Protect Our Native Plants
Florida's native red, black and white mangroves also must be trimmed according to local and state laws. The Florida Department of Environmental Protection states, "Loss of mangroves reduces fishery productivity, increases land erosion and decreases nearshore water quality. To protect the environment and prevent these harmful effects, the Mangrove Trimming and Preservation Act regulates trimming and alteration of mangroves."
